The book, a compelling first-hand account of a lawyer who defends the poor and wrongly condemned, speaks to the inequality in the justice system.

The quiet and serene campus turned quickly to excitement during Move-in Day at Lebanon Valley College. Happy greetings among roommates and staff assisting new families blended with the sounds of coaching whistles on the fields and music rising from the Pride of The Valley Marching Band on the quad.

McDaniel College has awarded select freshmen with $100,000 Educator's Legacy Scholarships. Children with a parent or guardian who has at least four years of current and consecutive full time employment at a K-12 school or community college can apply for this guaranteed scholarship to attend McDaniel College. Any service qualifies, such as teachers, administrators, counselors, nurses or support staff, etc.

Lebanon Valley College science students are spending part of their summer collaborating with faculty and fellow classmates for unique science summer research projects. Along with returning students, several incoming freshmen are participating through a program called Research First.

Loyola University Maryland has announced the members of its spring 2017 Dean's List. In order to qualify for the Dean's List at Loyola, a student must achieve a minimum QPA of at least 3.500 for the term, provided that, in the term they have successfully completed courses totaling a minimum of 15 credits.

Several local residents made the academic Deans' List at Azusa Pacific University. These students are honored for a spring 2017 grade-point average of 3.5 or better. They are joined by 1,957 students receiving the same honor.

More than 150 Lebanon Valley College student-athletes have been named to the Middle Atlantic Conference's (MAC) Winter and Spring Academic Honor Roll, emphasizing the Flying Dutchmen's commitment to classroom success.

A total of 11,101 students enrolled during the 2017 spring semester at The University of Alabama were named to the Dean's List with an academic record of 3.5 (or above) or the President's List with an academic record of 4.0 (all A's). The UA Dean's and President's lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.

Kutztown University has conferred degrees on more than 1,200 students during the winter and spring semesters. Kutztown University announces degree conferment twice a year, once in the winter and once in the summer. Commencement exercises are held in May and December; however, students finish their requirements for graduation throughout the entire year. The cumulative grade point average necessary for honor distinction is: with honor (cum laude) 3.40; with high honor (magna cum laude) 3.60 and with highest honor (summa cum laude) 3.80. The following students have been awarded degrees since the summer 2016 announcement. Students who have requested privacy (FERPA) are not listed publicly.

Elizabethtown (Pa.) College announced the names of students whose outstanding academic performances have earned them the recognition of being included on the spring 2017 dean's list. Students on the dean's list are full-time undergraduate students who earn a semester grade point average of 3.60 or better in 14 or more credit hours, of which at least 12 credits are letter-graded course work.

The following local residents were among the 606 students who received degrees during the Commencement exercises at Grove City College on May 20, 2017. Delivering this year's Commencement address was Vice President of the United States, Mike Pence. The Class of 2017 was the largest class in Grove City College 140 year history. In recent years, the Grove City College's four-year graduation rate has climbed to 78 percent, while its six-year graduation rate has reached 83 percent. The average graduation rate in the U.S. is 59 percent.

More than 1,660 students have been named to the Spring 2017 Dean's List at Kutztown University. To be eligible for the Dean's List, an undergraduate student must be registered for at least 12 credits and have a minimum grade point average of 3.60.

At 11 a.m. Saturday, May 20, graduates in the Class of 2017 took center stage for Elizabethtown College's 114th Commencement. Lynn Pasquerella, president of the Association of American Colleges and Universities, spoke.

More than 80 Lebanon Valley College students completed Brave Zone Network Training during the past academic year. The Brave Zone Network trains students, faculty, and staff with the goal of creating an on-campus network of allies and members of the LGBT+ community.

Lebanon Valley College celebrated its 148th Commencement on Saturday, May 13 with nearly 500 students receiving their degrees in Louis A. Sorrentino Gymnasium. The 385 graduating seniors were joined by 38 doctor of physical therapy candidates, and 57 master's degree candidates.

Nearly 150 Lebanon Valley College students representing academic departments across campus displayed their academic and creative work to an audience of faculty, peers, trustees, administrators, industry representatives, and friends of the College during the annual Inquiry Symposium held on April 27 in Sorrentino Gymnasium.

Lebanon Valley College honors the 94 students who received the Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges award.
